Several characteristics of glass

When the glass is damaged by external force, the fragments will become honeycomb like small particles with obtuse angle, which is not easy to cause serious injury to human body.

high strength

The impact strength and bending strength of toughened glass with the same thickness are 3-5 times and 3-5 times of those of ordinary glass.

thermal stability

The toughened glass has good thermal stability and can withstand the temperature difference of 300 ℃ which is 3 times of that of ordinary glass.

The first is that the strength of glass is several times higher than that of ordinary glass.

Second, it is safe to use. Its bearing capacity is increased and its fragile property is improved. Even if the toughened glass is damaged, it is small fragments without acute angle, which greatly reduces the harm to human body. The quench and heat resistance of tempered glass is 3-5 times higher than that of ordinary glass. It can withstand temperature difference above 250 degrees and has obvious effect on preventing thermal cracking. It's one of the safety glasses. To ensure the safety of qualified materials for high-rise buildings.

Disadvantages of tempered glass:

1. The toughened glass can not be cut and processed any more. The glass can only be processed to the required shape before tempering and then tempered.

2. Although the strength of tempered glass is stronger than that of ordinary glass, tempered glass has the possibility of self explosion (self rupture), while ordinary glass does not.

3. The surface of toughened glass will be uneven (wind spot) and slightly thinner. The reason of thinning is that after the glass is melted and softened, it is cooled rapidly by strong wind force, which makes the crystal gap inside the glass smaller and the pressure larger. Therefore, the glass is thinner after tempering than before. Generally, 4 ~ 6 mm glass becomes 0.2 ~ 0.8 mm thin after tempering, and 8 ~ 20 mm glass becomes 0.9 ~ 1.8 mm thin after tempering. The specific degree depends on the equipment, which is also the reason why toughened glass can not be used as mirror.

4. The flat glass for building after tempering furnace (physical tempering) will generally have deformation, and the degree of deformation is determined by equipment and technical personnel. To a certain extent, it affects the decoration effect (except for special needs).
